How Do We Build Trust in the City – Together with Local Communities?

What does it take to build trust in a local community, not only in services and institutions, but also between people?

In this interactive workshop, Alna District takes you behind the scenes of a long-term effort to build trust, one step at a time, through local relationships, cross-sector collaboration, and meaningful participation by children and young people.

Drawing on examples from youth clubs, the Citizenship Project, outreach work, and partnerships with civil society organizations, the session explores how community-based initiatives can become a driving force for safety, participation, and optimism for the future.

The session offers insights into how we can move beyond traditional sector-based thinking towards genuine co-creation, and what becomes possible when community members, volunteers, young people, and public services come together as equal partners in addressing complex societal challenges.

This workshop is for anyone who wants to understand how trust is built in practice and seeks inspiration for developing stronger, more inclusive, and sustainable communities.
