Building trust to prevent sexual harm among youth

A Strengths-Based Approach to Addressing Sexual Harm Among Children and Young People

Ulla Bjørndahl and Rona Eriksen Andersgaard from the Regional Resource Centre for Traumatic Stress and Suicide Prevention (RVTS East) will facilitate this workshop, which focuses on a strengths-based approach to preventing and addressing sexual harm among children and young people.

The workshop explores how emphasizing strengths, resources, and healthy development can support effective prevention and response efforts. Participants will be briefly introduced to Play it Right, a dialogue-based toolkit designed to support non-judgmental conversations about sexuality and to equip professionals with practical tools for promoting healthy sexual development and preventing harmful sexual behaviour.

The session will also invite discussion on additional key aspects related to the topic, allowing for reflection and exchange of perspectives among participants.
